Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a way of spotting what could go wrong with products and processes and preventing it from happening. It puts into print what people do automatically in their heads. The FMEA shows customers that you have thought through your designs and processes and used your experience to prevent failure. FMEAs provide a record of what has been learnt which can be used to improve and avoid us having to re-invent the wheel.

In the current legal and competitive environments FMEAs are important in preventing failures and non-conformance and they are mandatory for many contracts. The whole course is based on QS-9000 (3rd edition) requirements.
