Train to Gain

Funding is available for companies to upskill their workforce through the Train to Gain initiative.

Additional funding is now available for persons who have already achieved a 1st NVQ Level 2 who now wish to complete a 2nd NVQ Level 2.

A similar arrangement is in place for persons who have already achieved a NVQ Level 3 who now wish to move on to a 2nd NVQ Level 3.

LEVEL 2

· NVQs Available:

o Distribution and Warehouse

o Business Improvement Techniques

o Engineering Maintenance

o Fabrication and Welding

o Material Process and Finishing

o Mechanical Manufacturing

o Performing Manufacturing Operations

o Team Leading

· Eligibility:

Candidates must be 19 years of age or above, and should be employed and hold a contract of employment.  Basic Skills can also be offered to candidates who wish to receive this support free of charge.

All candidates enrolling onto a Train To Gain programme can expect to receive a one-to-one interview where a Training Needs Analysis and an Assessment of their Basic Skills levels in literacy and numeracy will be conducted.

· Content and Delivery:

Candidates who require training can expect to receive 15 hours of training which can be delivered on or off-site.

· Costs:

For eligible candidates there will be no costs for the employer or individual. The Train To Gain funding will pay for registration, certification, training (up to 15 hours) and assessment and verification.

 

LEVEL 3

· NVQ’s Available:

o Engineering Maintenance

o Occupational Health and Safety

o Materials, Processing and Finishing

o Engineering Toolmaking

o Engineering Leadership

o Fabrication and Welding

o Business Improvement Techniques

o Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

o Engineering Technical Support

· Eligibility

Again, candidates must be 19 years of age or above and should be employed and hold a contract of employment. Basic skills can also be offered to candidates who wish to receive this support free of charge.

All candidates enrolling onto a Train To Gain programme can expect to receive a one-to-one interview where a Training Needs Analysis and an Assessment of their Basic Skills levels in literacy and numeracy will be conducted.

· Content and Delivery

Candidates who require training can expect to receive up to 20 hours worth of training which can be delivered on or off-site. Should extra training be required the employer will be expected to fund this.

· Costs

The employer will be required to contribute £692 towards the cost of the NVQ Level 3 delivery. The Train To Gain funding will pay for registration, certification, training (up to 20 hours), assessment and verification.
